Waimea Valley, on the north shore of Oahu, is an extremely powerful area. The ancient Polynesians use the word mana to describe "a spiritual quality considered to have supernatural origin". From the massive 40-60ft waves that crash on it's beaches, to the sacred Puu o Mahuka Heiau (Hawaiian Temple) that overlooks her valley and the majestic Waimea Waterfalls that flow from the forest to the ocean....Waimea is the embodiment of this sacred energy.

Waimea Valley State Park is a great place to witness the vast botanical plants, trees and flowers that abound in lush tropical areas of the Hawaiian islands. The Waimea Waterfalls are approximately 3/4 of a mile from the main visitor's center at the Waimea State Park. It's a moderate, paved hike that generally takes about 2-3 hours round trip.
